It was a real treat to have the local bar / restaurant within a short walking distance. The middle floor is a great entertaining space with a spotless and very modern kitchen with dining / living area leading out to the garden and pool. Not many people can lie in bed watching red squirrels leaping through the surrounding trees can they! The small kitchen area on the ground floor along with the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms means the whole floor can be very separate and quiet if two families were to share the house. I slept in one of the bedrooms on the ground floor and had the best night's sleep I've had for years… the mattress is heavenly. The views are beautiful and the area so quiet and peaceful. The house is exquisitely designedĪnd the attention to detail is fantastic. The views outside were truly beautiful and it was perfect to make use of the decking area for either sun bathing or eating outside, not to mention the infinity pool for cooling down in. The interior was spotless and modern, the kitchen was well equipped and easy to cook in, the open plan living and dining space relaxing and the bedrooms extremely comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and could not fault the property which was a joy to experience. Private gated drive and plenty of parking. Private, heated infinity pool 12m x 3m with surrounding terrace and garden. Uninterrupted views over the surrounding valley and countryside. I’d like to go to the store where Julia Child bought her copper pots, and maybe wander around the Musée Rodin, but we’ll see how things go. Our only concrete Parisian plans are culinary ones (this is my fault, unsurprisingly), so we’ll have to throw in some good walks and a bit of tourism in between meals to maintain our appetites. I mentioned in my last post how funny it is to be back on the same France trip 10 years later, and I have to say that my 13-year-old self would *freak out* if she knew that she and her boyfriend were ending the vacation together in Paris. I did some research, and it seems like the perfect place for Teo’s birthday dinner. Tonight, we’re going to a restaurant called Au Passage, recommended by Sanaë Lemoine, one of my favorite authors and a regular patron of Hart’s. Martin, which is within walking distance of pretty much every restaurant and bar I saved on Google Maps. We’re staying in a quirky little Airbnb on Canal St. It’s Teo’s twenty-fourth birthday, and the two of us are en route to Paris for one last hurrah in France after four blissful nights in Verteillac.
